Online Editor not working on fresh install?

I've just run a fresh install of the latest version, selecting the CORPORATE SITE theme during install. However, I'm seeing no trace of the 'Online Editor' whilst editing folders etc, there's not even an 'Enable Editor' button.

I've checked in Extensions (under Setup) and its listed (ezhtml) and ticked...but doesn't appear anywhere on the site itself?!

I did try unticking ezhtml, clicking 'apply' and received this error...

--------------------

Fatal error: Class 'ezcFile' not found in /home/.feller/a-hall/www.************.co.uk/lib/ezutils/classes/ezautoloadgenerator.php on line 283
Fatal error: eZ Publish did not finish its request

The execution of eZ Publish was abruptly ended, the debug output is present below.

--------------------

I checked via FTP and the file is there and present. I have to comment that so far, this CMS has been the clunkiest to install and get going, had errors during setup initially (using the Linux distribution) and so tried the Windows distribution (.zip) which eventually worked...

Thanks, but I don't get why I must now download a 30mb file and go to the hassle of installing it so as to do something so simple?

Once again, EZPublish just seems a bit clunky and unnecessary? Why allow the ability to enable/disable extensions if when you try, there's that error!? Why not show a friend error that states that EZComponents is required?

Very bewildered here!?

4.1 will come in two flavors, one with and one without (for those that prefer to use PEAR) eZ Components. So we are very aware of it, and thats why there is a very clear requriments for it in the install doc:
http://ez.no/doc/ez_publish/technical_manual/4_0/installation/normal_installation/requirements_for_doing_a_normal_installation

When it comes to oe you should be able to activate it manually editing settings/override/site.ini.*, but that is mostly oe specific as some other extensions have dependency on the autoload system.

Thanks for your reply Andre. Dispite the error message, I again tried unchecking and checking the EzHTML tickbox and eventually, the online editor boxes started to appear, without manually editing anything.

Unsure why...but at least it works!!

Glad to hear that 4.1 will improve this process.
