Hi,

I install ezpublish on a debian with php 4.3.6, mysql 3.23.49 and Apache 1.3.26. I unpack the latest ezpublish to my web folder and start setup with index.php.

The setup wizard doesn't warn me about permissions but they are not good (chmod = 755 on var, settings and design folder). no matter using manual modfix, modfix shell or nothing, after finishing the setup, class and pririoty diseppear in admin website and debug mode show a lot of problems with namespace (as described here http://ez.no/community/forum/setup_design/class_section_priority_gone_can_t_publish_anything_infecting_multiple_sites).

So, I wonder why the setup don't warn me about permissions and I think it's a way to understand and resolve my problem.

I would like to add that I have a specific web server user declare as 'myuser' in group 'users'.

help is welcome (I have a big headache).

Hi,

Why don't you set permissions in var, settings and design properly, using OS

chmod

command ?

Then clear all the cache, and see

thanks for help Lazaro,

I try chmod and so on but it doesn't work. The solution I took is to abandon the server in my hosting company and take a new one offered by visionWT (installation alreday done and very good quality of support).

Bye
