Hi all

My site uses charset iso-8859-1, but now I want to change over to UTF-8. Is there any documentation on this process?

Thanks
Jason

There is a page on this topic:
http://ez.no/ez_publish/documentation/configuration/configuration/language_and_charset/unicode_with_ez_publish

Basically you need to change some .ini settings then you need to convert the character set of your database. In MySQL you can do this with myisamchk, haven't converted a PostgreSQL database so you would need to look up the charset conversion in the psql doc.

If you want to use MySQL you need to use the 4.1 development release.

Hi Bard,

it isn't that "easy" and you may run into some serious troubles.

It takes some time to convert a installation to utf-8. But it isn't done with the db-update. Your templates may also need some adjustments.

So it took me around a week of programming / testing to do this job.

All in all I can say:
Don't do the conversion
-) if there is no really important reason and
-) if you are not familiar with the code of ez

Kind regards,
Emill.

Best wishes,
Georg.
