I installed eZ publish 3.5.1 and get looped back when logging in. The FAQ case does not seem to be the case here.

Registration of new users seems to succeed, the email (to admin) with the account information for the newly created user contains empty values for both username and email address however. The'email' and 'login' columns in the 'ezuser' MySQL table are also empty for the newly created user.

Webserver info:
Version - Apache/1.3.28 (Unix) PHP/4.3.10

Does anyone have an idea what might cause the problem?

Jan-Hein, could you check that you have cookies enabled in your browser?

Are you able to re-produce it on the admindevel.ezpublish.no site?

I used the wrong domainname for my session.cookie_domain parameter. I adjusted this and everything seems to be working fine right now.

Thanks for the hint to check the cookie settings.

Login in as 'admin' with Firefox and Opera works fine.

IE 6 still has the 'Getting looped back when logging in' problem.

I'm not using underscores in the URL and I have cookies enabled (automatic cookie handling).

Does anyone have an idea what might cause the problem with IE 6?

Giving the session.cookie_domain parameter an empty (default) value solved the loopback problem for IE 6. Adding a P3P header would probably have solved the problem for IE 6 as well. See: http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/a/javascript/2002/10/04/p3p.html
I haven't tried this however.
