For us newbies that want to set up an eZpublish site but don't have the time to dive into 700+ page books on php, mysql, etc., can someone post a set of steps to get this thing running on OSX?

I have followed the instructions that are found in various posts on this forum as well as the instructions on entropy.ch but to no avail. Mysql won't start and no combination of commands typed into the terminal helps. I realize this is beneath most of the people on here so your help is appreciated greatly in advance.

I am looking for the same kind of help myself. I tried to set up ez. many times but dont have time to use several days to find the right mix of users/rights passwordconsepts in MySQL etc. But the right way to do it is start with MYSQL I think. Install the latest MySQL OS X installer which has a controlpanel to turn the databasserver of/on. EZ runs on top of - or under - PHP and that thing is not compatible with MySQL.. I think it is a good idea for the PHP/MySQL community to get a kind of compatibility here. (I know about PHP 5, but EZ doesnet run on PHP 5. And I haveent even tried to install imagmagic.

ez doesnt look to bad to use, but to install you have to be familiar or better with unix -

lets hope some great people can help us with this
