Charset problems UTF-8

Hi!
We have one installation of eZ publish 3.8.6 on our server and we would like to run one site with UTF-8 and the other sites with charset=iso-8856-1. How can we do this?

The new UTF-8 database was created with character set utf8.
In the ini-files: site.ini.append.php, i18n.ini.append.php and template.ini.append.php we have changed the charset to utf-8 in siteaccesses for the new site.

Still after theese changes the coding is iso-8856-1 on the new UTF-8-site.

We have noticed the old bug 004314 (it is closed). Therefore we changed the setting in i18n.ini directly under settings, just to see what happend. The charset is then changed to UTF-8. This is a problem. We can not have this setting on all our sites in the installation. We need to have different charset-settings for different siteaccesses...

1. Is the bug 004314 really solved?

2. Does this mean that we need to have two installations of eZ-publish? One for UTF-8 sites and the other for our iso-8856-1 sites?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Anja

Unfortunately both bug reports regarding this problem state that there is no way to solve this problem for now, as it involves major works.

So it looks like you have to have two installations of eZ :-(

Hi Claudia!
Thanks for your answer!
We have two installations of eZ publish now. It takes a lot of space, but like you said, it seems like the only solution. :-(
