Hello,

I'd like to know how is it possible to remove massively all locks on all site contents (or part of it) to avoid to log as each user to remove individual locks

Thanks in advance,
Nicolas

Lock ? You mean draft versions ?

Kristof has written an extension to automatically delete dusty drafts.

He's going to publish it as a contrib as soon as he's get the time (or recover from the new year hangover ? ;)

For ex : some users modify contents on the site but instead of pressing cancel, they use back button or click elsewhere. As a consequence, the draft is blocked

So drafts are locked and we must ask this person to "unlock" the content.

As admin, I would like to remove all this lock either in mass or one by one.

I think I have this issue on drafts only

Does the contrib solve my issue ?

I guess Kristof is off-line, so here is a link to his his initial work:

http://pubsvn.ez.no/community/trunk/hacks/untoucheddrafts/

The patches are for 3.7.2 and need to be tested a bit more.

However, if you are on 3.6.x or even 3.5.x, the php script included should already alleviate some frustrations:

http://pubsvn.ez.no/community/trunk/hacks/untoucheddrafts/bin/php/

The script checks for drafts and will delete those for which the current user is not logged in. The script does make the difference between real drafts and internal drafts because of a "property" that for internal drafts the create and modified times are equal. In the patch this is a bit more robust by introducing a new status value.

Stay tuned, there are more urgent problems/bugs to be solved (including a nasty one with the notification system and digest option, turning ez publish in a kind of spam engine)

Kudos to the nice work from Kristof

Hi Paul

When you say 'stay tuned', will there be, or have there been, any further devlopments around this functionality?

What we would really like, is an interface, within eZ publish admin, for Administrator users to remove other users' drafts. Both on a one-by-one basis (ie. as they encounter them) and through some sort of 'bulk' management interface. [Sometime the decisions to removed drafts may need to be based on offline-process-knowledge, that is not held in eZ publish.]

Cheers
James

Hi James

The new version status was introduced in the 3.8 branch: http://pubsvn.ez.no/nextgen/trunk/doc/features/3.8/temporary_drafts.txt

A script to delete drafts will be added in the 3.9 branch: http://pubsvn.ez.no/nextgen/trunk/doc/features/3.9/old_drafts_cleanup.txt

Great news, thanks Kristof. [Once again, I must prioritize upgrading from v3.6 :-]
