How to allow to add only one item of product in to shopping basket

I'm creating shop for paintings.Each painting is unique.

Ez shop has all functionality i ned, but i do not find way to restrict adding several items of the same painting to the shopping cart...

Any idea?

it looks like i need to create workflow, which checks is painting already in shopping cart or checks quantity of product...

Maybe there is already such extension ?
