How to make Editor to create and only send to pending but not publish

Hi all,

The "Editor" role fits 99% of my needs, except it allows to "send for publication".

I would like this role not to be able to "send for publication" but to "send it for submission" and it's the moderator role to review, approve and publish it. "submission" if the fact to put the content in a pending for publication list.

I guess it's one of the content module functions, so: What functions of the "content" module should be enabled & disabled for the "Editor" to just be able to "submit"?

Of course, I will copy the Editor role and edit the copy of the role ;-)

why don't you use workflows?

Its seems to be the right solution.

Hello,

I suggest using eZApprove2 which provides for the features you describe.

Cheers,

I agree with Daisy here: if your needs are so simple, a content approval workflow is all you need.

This means that editors will always push on the "publish" button, but the content they create will need to be approved by moderators before it appears on the site.

All you need is to create a new workflow, add to it an "approval" event, and assign the workflow to the "before content publication" trigger. All of this is done in the administration interface. Once it is done, just make sure you have set up a cronjob running the 'frequent' set of eZPublish tasks

What I did, according to your indications:

In "workflows", there are "Workflow groups": "Standard" (no more).

I guess "Standard", by its name is the default Workflow, and it's empty anyway.

Should I add a new workflow process in the "Standard" group?

Would you know a tutorial for this? (I am running 4.3)
