The Design Contest is now closing in on it's deadline. Some designs have already entered. The entries can be found here:
http://ez.no/community/contribs/site_styles

For those of you who have not yet started to make a contribution can start by reading the article here:
http://www.sitepoint.com/article/table-less-css-ez-publish

You can read more about the design contest here:
http://ez.no/company/news/ez_publish_design_contest

So, what's the status? Who are now working on a design?

The iPod looks really great ;)

Are the entries supposed to leave the templates alone and only use CSS?

Gabriel, yes. These entries can only change CSS. It is not template packages for this contest. This is great opportunity to show your CSS skills with eZ publish. Making a design package is really fast when using this method and you can even use editors like dramweaver to alter the CSS for you.

Luke, great looking design. Keep them comming.

Hi,

Thanks Bård.

Gabriel you can coding CSS very fast if you using WYSIWYG editor like Dreamweaver. You working with 2 files only ;-) It`s good to start from reading tutorial and looking in to uploaded examples ... Have a nice fun ;-)

Yeah I can't possibly compete with Lukasz. I'm not much of a designer (more developer) anyhow.

I hope to have a design ready before the deadline. It's a nice opportunity to give something back to the eZ community.

Let's get creative... ;)

Hi!

Where is the preview of the design now? It was possible to view the contributed design without downloading it earlier... Is it because of the upgrade of the ez-site this weekend this is not working?

What kind of format is ezpkg(ezpackage)? I think if you ez-guys want to get more contributions to this contest, you(and the other contributors) have to use a more userfriendly file format, because users on windows are not able to unzip the contributions with ezpkg format to check it out, only rar or winzip..and I also don't know howto unpack this kind of format on linux either...

I see some info here on the ezpkg: http://ez.no/ez_publish/documentation/ez_publish_3_4/content_object_export_with_ezpm/other_ezpm_commands

but if you want webdesigners to contribute, access to already uploaded content must be possible to get an easy access to. Webdesigners knowledge is not linux og ez-made commands.

If Content shall be made simple - the conditions for contributing also should be simple!

Yes, but if I first want to check out the contributed design-files..and see how you have made this..how can I unpack these packages on windows?

If you don`t want install eZ publish you can use online demo. http://ez.no/ez_publish/demo
Import package and display files. You can also use WinRAR to extract files from contributted designs files. You can browse ezpackage files using Total Commander for WIN32.

Luke,

That's a great idea! Could someone add this to the ez.no's FAQ?
Can anyone add any thing to the FAQ anymore, why is this seem to be locked down?

cheers,

Hi!

Nice design the Silver-star. Is this a free to use design on an ez publish site? ..or do I have to buy this design and the front-picture?

Btw. I think the css silver-star design is forgotten on buttons(i.e. button for the contact form).

The deadline for the design contest has been pushed back to friday the 4th of March 24:00 CET. Upload your contribution within that time and you are in the competition for a brand new iPod mini.
