Hi,

Unfortunately my Host has updated their PHP version to 4.4 which made my site to stop working. I apparently need to update to 3.7RC1 to get it work.

Could some please give me a walkthrough how to update the site to 3.7? I am truly desperate and I get the impression that there is a few of us with the same problem.

It's running on a Apache webserver on a Linux machine with MySQL

Thanks in advance!

Thanks in advance

Hi..

Sorry to hear about the upgrade to PHP4.4, I still have some troubles with 3.7 on PHP4.4..

The upgrade process is the same as ever - I upgraded from 3.5 to 3.7, following the instructions noted in http://ez.no/doc/ez_publish/technical_manual/3_6/installation/upgrading/upgrading_from_3_5_2_to_3_6_0

eZ 3.7 is essentially 3.6 modified to work on PHP4.4.

Essentially what you must do is:
- backup everything
- disable the site, just in case
- update distribution files
- update the database (in the update directory you will find all necessary SQL scripts)
- run update scripts (PHP) to modify the data
- clear the cache

It's all in the docs, upgrade instructions can be found for older versions too if you want to be safe.

Please contact me by email, I would like to have more information from someone running eZ 3.7, I have some weird troubles (with search and some forms).

Thanks.

Hi!

Thanks for the reply, but can upgrade directly from 3.4.1 to 3.7RC1?

Thanks in advance

From 3.4.1 to 3.7RC1 is a huge leap. To bee on the safe side I think it's best to upgrade first to 3.5 and 3.6. -----Remember to back up your site first.----------

As a alternative you cud demand your money back from your host, and then host your site somewhere else!

Hi!

Yeah, that was actually what i though but I would be great if someone good give me a short walkthrough.

Can I just upgrade from 3.4.2 to 3.5.2 and then from 3.5.2 to 3.7RC1? I have the information about the process from 3.5.2 to 3.6 but not from 3.4.2 to 3.5.2. Which scripts should I run?

I would really apreciate it if someone could take the time and explain this step.

Thanks in advance
