ok, Ive tried double clicking on both ezpublish icons on the desktop, but no matter what I only get sent to the admin pages! not the regular website.
http://localhost/index.php sends me to the same place as http://localhost/index.php/admin
anyone seen this before? -Josh

Hi, Why don't you try:
http://localhost/index.php/user
or
http://localhost/index.php/demo
or
http://localhost/index.php/admin/sdk
or http://localhost/index.php/admin/manual? I am sure, this will work.

these 2 links work (becuase they are in the admin interface which I can see)
http://localhost/index.php/admin/sdk
or http://localhost/index.php/admin/manual?
but these 2 also bring me to the admin interface! not the user website:
http://localhost/index.php/user
or http://localhost/index.php/demo what do you think?

figured I'd add that the last solution doesn't work, no matter which url I enter
/user, or /demo I still just get the login for the admin page, not the user site.
I think this might have happened after I created my first class by myself (building on top of the user data) OH! and I think I deleted the cache files... did I ruin something? you used to be able to delete those in 2.2.x
cheers! -J

Hi,
I suppose, you should set the access rights in
admin interace, Users and then Anonimous User. Normaly this rights are set up when you have installed demo data. If you have intalled only "kernel_clean", this rights are not set up. I hope, this will help you a step foreward.

where would I check the permissions... in the roles? I am using the demo data, so I don't know what would have changed so that I can no longer see the demo site...
any more suggestions?
thanks! -Josh

Look in your browser's cookie area for cookies for your test site. You might be logged in as "admin", but the "standard" pages do not report if you are logged in. Log out in the admin section or delete the cookies.

Hi Josh, If you have cleared the cache, that is no problem. You can clear the cache every time. This has nothing to do with the possibility to see the demo data. But if you have created a new class, this could have to do with the possibility to log in, because it is possible that you have changed something without knowing what you have changed. But to "undo" this step is probably more difficult than to reinstall ezpublish. I suppose you have installed locally ezpublish. If so, you should delete the database and reinstall the program. Of course you should try to set the permissions once again for the "Anonymous User", but it is not easy to explain this point, without to write too much. I am sure the new installation will take less time than to set user permission or to "undo" your wrong step by creating a new class.

Heya! as to logging out, I tried to log out, if I do then I just go directly to the admin login page.
as to setting the permissions on the new class. All I did was create a new class group, and 2 new classes inside it.
then I created an instance of one of these classes in the my site section on the website.
Right now I'm a little confused. can just creating a new class destroy the whole website!?!? um, that would be bad...
I've even deleted the instance I created already. still can't figure out why I can't get into the demo data. on the sitemap of the admin interface (in content) I also notice something wierd. there seems to be 8 numbers along the bottom, but when I try to click on any of them (other than the first page) I get the error
unavailable The object is not available

Hi,
Have you tried to asign this objects to a section?
Without asigning the objects and the classes to a section they are not available.
