Allan Robinson	Friday 11 November 2005 4:51:45 pm I've tried to get help from this forum several times but haven't got the help i need.So I am wondering if I delete the program I have there now which has been upgraded from ezpublish-3[1].7.0rc2 to up to 3.7.2 the other day to try to restore my site. I can't understand what has been happening to the program .I have used a FTP program to overwrite the files to restore my site but it never works. How can this be if I overwrite the whole program.Do the caches need to be cleared or something to load properly on my server.If so where would I do this and how as I don't know anything about programing. Or should I just delete it and install 3.7.2 from scratch.But I don't want to loose all the hundreds of hours work I've done so could you please tell me what files I need to backup to keep my work and in simple language explain how to restore my work onto the new install.Or could someone help me by doing it for me. Find doc to upgrade here. http://ez.no/products/ez_publish_cms/documentation/installation/upgrading You already have read this but this is useful http://ez.no/community/forum/install_configuration/upgrade_from_3_7rc2_to_3_7 what you must do is: 1 - First take backup of everything (database, settings,var,extensions and design dir, any other file with special changes) 2 - Download eZ publish distribution 3.7.2 from http://ez.no/download/all_releases 3 - There are no special changes done in database between 3.7.orc2 to 3.7.2 but you can update your database [ezpublish-3.7.2]\update\database\mysql\3.7\unstable\dbupdate-3.7.0rc2-to-3.7.0.sql [ezpublish-3.7.2]\update\database\mysql\3.7\dbupdate-3.7.0-to-3.7.1.sql [ezpublish-3.7.2]\update\database\mysql\3.7\dbupdate-3.7.1-to-3.7.2.sql 4 - Copy following folders from 3.7.orc2 to new eZp 3.7.2 * settings/override * Settings/siteaccess/[Your siteaccess] * extensions/[Your all extensions] * Var * design/[Your sitedesign] (if you have it here insted of extensions) * Copy any other file you have done any special changes. 5 - No need to execute any update script for this upgrade 6 - Clear the cache 7 - Done Note : regarding step 2 download eZ publish distribution you also need to configure the site see here. http://ez.no/products/ez_publish_cms/documentation/installation/manual_installation/manual_configuration_of_ez_publish I hope this will help you. what you must do is:
1 - First take backup of everything

2 - Download eZ publish distribution 3.7.2 from
http://ez.no/download/all_releases

3 - There are no special changes done in database
between 3.7.orc2 to 3.7.2 but you can update
your database
[ezpublish-3.7.2]\update\database\mysql\3.7\unstable\dbupdate-3.7.0rc2-to-3.7.0.sql
[ezpublish-3.7.2]\update\database\mysql\3.7\dbupdate-3.7.0-to-3.7.1.sql
[ezpublish-3.7.2]\update\database\mysql\3.7\dbupdate-3.7.1-to-3.7.2.sql

4 - Copy following folders from 3.7.orc2 to
new eZp 3.7.2
* settings/override
* Settings/siteaccess/[Your siteaccess]
* extensions/[Your all extensions]
* Var
* design/[Your sitedesign] (if you have it here
insted of extensions)
* Copy any other file you have done any special
changes.

5 - No need to execute any update script for
this upgrade

6 - Clear the cache

7 - Done
