Is there a way to just shut off versioning completely? Ninety percent of my clients don't need or want it, and the "Possible Edit Conflict" warning really throws users into a tizzy.
Alternately, is there a way to permanently specify the answer to the "Possible Edit Conflict" question? I'd prefer to kill versioning altogether, but this would be the next best thing.

Hi Deane,
Put this setting in site.ini.append.php for your siteaccess
# What to do when editing an object that has draft versions newer than the current version. # Use 'showversions' to select which version to edit, or 'usecurrent' to always edit the current version. EditDirtyObjectAction=usecurrent
Check also [VersionManagement] in content.ini

Hi
If you are on 3.6 or 3.7, could you try out this patch by Kristof:
http://pubsvn.ez.no/community/trunk/hacks/untoucheddrafts/
Plesae test it and share your experience
Additionally, you may also disable the store draft button in the edit templates, then you won't have this again ..."ever".
