Hi,

Does anyone know if there is a helpdesk-system out there for eZ Publish?

I just got this question from a customer regarding this. Both GPL and commercial are of interest.

Regards,
/Nicklas

Thanks for the tips, Ekkehard!

I will look into it. Php Project looks promising, I only wish there were such a solution for eZ. Maybe I will have to develop it myself.

Yes, but it's better to do this with eZ publish, Xavier Dutoit ask in this tread
http://ez.no/community/forum/developer/project_management_system_with_gantt_charts
<i>What about building that together ? I'm ready to commit myself to take my share of the work.</i>

But I'm focused in future dvelopment of the document management features but need the groupwarefeature too, so i can replace our internal phprojekt with eZ .

Only the chat we never used. I'm happy about every software i can replace with eZ, because to be up to date with eZ is enough.

EZ is on a higher level than phprojekt an the other important groupware tools:

All these aren't on enterprise level, so it is better to invest more time now than later when it is in use.

I agree with you fully. Wish all the functionality of Php Project already were in eZ.
However, I guess most of it must be developed by us for this customer.
For your info, the eZUG Edu also has this in its agenda. But I suppose it will take time before it is up and running.

I heard at the Saturday presentation something about starting soon? Perhaps you should contact them. I don't find the speaker on my list. Perhaps you should ask any of the eZ systies, so you can share your efforts.

Hi

A helpdesk system is easy to implement in ez publish. You will want to tailor things for your customer.

One non-standard feature you may need is to push notification emails, like delegation of tasks if you need this. This can be accomplished with one of our contributions: the person list datatype.

If you put up categories or other qualifications, I would suggest to use the (single) objectrelation datatype to create a customisable drop down menu.

What features do you actuallly need for such a system?

Hi Nicklas,

I'm interested in your post as we are currently looking into using a Project Management facility for our clients, I've been looking at dotProject and E-Groupware but would ideally like to use eZ publish as a framework due to the visible benefits of developing all application on one system.

Did you build a project management facility with eZ, or do you know of any which are openly available for use.

Best regards,

Martin

Hi Guys,

I guess some contributions combined intelligent would solve many tasks.
What would be the features you want to have in such a system?
Do you have a requirement list?

Cheers
