IRC is there for everyone to use but its pretty hard to catch people.

I propose organising a few time slots where people can meet and chat.

What times are good for you? A time of 3 or 4pm (GMT), for about an hour or so, would suit me.

Read this thread for more irc information.

While I can't commit to a time, I'll do my best to ensure I am during busines hours (US CST).

To Paul:

You can use a web-based IRC client. There are plenty of Java based hacks out there that let you chat through the web (using port 80 only). Another solution is to SSH to a host that you can use IRC from and then use a text-based IRC client (my personal fav. is BitchX - http://www.bitchx.org/screenshots.php).

Thanks Balasz

I'll google a bit for such java applets.

O dear, I feel old, being an IRC newbie ... should I retire?

Hey Paul,
no need to retire. I think, today was my first connection to IRC, too ;-)
