... especially the User module, since it sees the most traffic on a site that uses user authentication. I'd really like to be able to run a "staging" database server as the master server for "static" content like articles, images, etc., from which content slave db's could replicate data on a set schedule or when forced to do so. I'd like our editors to be the only ones issuing writes to that master db so site traffic doesn't impact the performance of the administrative environment. That can't happen unless I can shift the tables involved in user authentication, forums, etc. to a different server.
