UPDATE: After reading on EZ seems as this is a known and fixed bug:

Hi

I have a site where I have several users in primarily one user group. However, some user are added to other usergroups (this in order to gain more permissions). However, when I am counting the total number of users these alternative locations are counted as an user. I.e an user placed in usergroup "Class of 1999" and usergroup "Editor" is counted as two distinctive users, instead of one. Am I doing something wrong or is this correct behaviour from EZ 3.3-3

Cheers
Tore

This is not possible in 3.3-3, however it has been added to the 3.3 branch and will be available in 3.3-4.
The new argument 'main_node_only' to tree_count, list_count, tree and list controls this behaviour.

3.3-4 should be out in about a week or two.
