Hi Goran,

I'm not sure this can be done as the French version still has english word on the login page as well. In fact only the field names and the buttons are translated.

Best regards,

Fabien

Some possible reasons:
1: You need to to translate the user class (go to admin -> setup -> class -> user -> user)
2. there is a bug where template in use has untranslated string (please report this in the issue tracker if you can verify that template contains hard coded English text)
3. the string you are referring to is from a ini file, and you need to change the ini value.
4. The string you are referring to is untranslated (as in its using |i18n, but the string is not translated in your ts file)

Goran: In your case it's option one.
Fabien: In your case it's probably option 4.

Hello;

I've got another problem. I gradually translate some strings to Polish language. I uploaded unfinished translation, and it worked. But now as I uploaded further translated file, the newly translated text doesn't want to show up.

I cleared the cache, even manually deleted translation cache from cache folders: nothing. The text is "You need to be logged in to get access to the forums. You can do so here".

One thing that has changed since uploading first version of my translation: I changed the default siteaccess from "pol" to "site". But the rest is the same, like:

Locale: "pol-PL"
HTTPLocale: default
SystemLocale: default
ContentObjectLocale: "pol-PL"
ShowUntranslatedObjects: disabled
SiteLanguageList
[0]
[1] pol-PL

I also mapped the default installation to Polish language, it doesn't have any other translation or language. Yet it's quite irritating that editing object always show up the screen "chose language to edit", but anyway.

What can be the cause?

Did you clear the template cache? (ts strings are compiled into the compiled version of the templates like ini settings if I remember correctly)

Yes, I did: I cleared template&content cache through admin interface. Then cleared it in the cache folders manually to be sure...

I don't know what might be the cause. o_O Probably the change of default siteaccess from pol to site, but it shouldn't influence the language of the whole site. Also, the text that I translated earlier keep being translated, only the newly translated text isn't there. I deleted "type=unfinished", everything should be allright. o_O I have no idea what's going on.

I checked the forums templates in webin overrides folder, I checked ezwebin and global translation file: the string to be translated is exactly the same. But it's not translated. o_O.

EDIT I checked my error log, and it's full of something like this:

[ Jan 26 2009 12:23:58 ] [79.187.113.186] eZTemplateDesignResource::overrideArray:
Custom match file: path 'line/blog.tpl' not found in any resource. Check the template settings in settings/override.ini
[ Jan 26 2009 12:23:58 ] [79.187.113.186] eZTemplateDesignResource::overrideArray, tried files:
design/admin/override/templates/line/blog.tpl, extension/ezclasslists/design/standard/override/templates/line/blog.tpl, extension/ezdhtml/design/standard/override/templates/line/blog.tpl, extension/ezodf/design/standard/override/templates/line/blog.tpl, design/standard/override/templates/line/blog.tpl

Hmm? I didn't have anything like this before... however, these errors aren't showing anymore. o_O

EDIT: can I delete everything from cache folders?

I don't understand: I translated other string: "Remove object", and it appeared translated.

Yet I cannot translate the "You need to be logged in to get access to the forums. You can do so %login_link_start%here%login_link_end%" string. o_O

I checked it in ezwebin translation folder. I checked it in share translation folder. Looks the same... Still nothing...

Maybe it has something to do with "context" in translation file?

The ezlupdate isn't perfect. I haven't dived into this, but for debugging try something along following lines:

- locate the template which contains this string (see also André R. suggestions, I'm presuming here it's coming from the template)
- check in which translation file this should be (eg: share/translations/lang/translation.ts)
- edit this xml with your favorite editor, remove the whole block which contains the string in question

    <message>
        <source>%login_link_startLog in%login_link_end or %create_link_startcreate a user account%create_link_end to comment.</source>
        <translation>%login_link_startLog in%login_link_end eller %create_link_startcreate en bruger konto%create_link_end for at kommenterer.</translation>
    </message>

- run ezlupdate with as verbose output as possible

Then you should be able to do the translation again. Of course, this is just a debugging idea. And yes, context is relevant.

Hi there;

It looks like the engine doesn't read the whole ezwebin translation. (I understand that "base" translation from share folder is overriden by ezwebin translation, but anyway, I have both translated, so it must be ezwebin fault). It only updates normal share translation. What should I do about it? o_O Does anybody have the same problem?

And I'm getting errors like:

[ Jan 27 2009 07:31:14 ] [ip_address] eZTemplateDesignResource::overrideArray:
Custom match file: path 'full/article.tpl' not found in any resource. Check the template settings in settings/override.ini

[ Jan 27 2009 07:31:14 ] [ip_address] eZTemplateDesignResource::overrideArray:
Custom match file: path 'full/article_mainpage.tpl' not found in any resource. Check the template settings in settings/override.ini

Overrides don't work? Impossible, engine takes the templates from ezwebin overrides folder... I checked it by modifying a random template.

Hi again;

I got rid of the errors by a dirty trick: just copied the /design/ezwebin from extensions to design/ folder and no errors appear. It shouldn't be like this, but anyway.
(Anyway, the strange thing is that errors do not appear, yet templates are still taken from another place: from ezwebin extensions/etc/ directory)

Yet the engine still doesn't read ezwebin translation file... HMMM.

Here's error log:

[ Jan 27 2009 08:20:58 ] [my_ip] eZTSTranslator::loadTranslationFile:
Could not load translation file: extension/ezclasslists/translations/pol-PL/translation.ts
[ Jan 27 2009 08:24:54 ] [my_ip] eZTSTranslator::loadTranslationFile:
Could not load translation file: extension/ezodf/translations/pol-PL/translation.ts
[ Jan 27 2009 08:24:54 ] [my_ip] eZTSTranslator::loadTranslationFile:
Could not load translation file: extension/ezclasslists/translations/pol-PL/translation.ts
[ Jan 27 2009 08:29:21 ] [my_ip] eZTSTranslator::loadTranslationFile:
Could not load translation file: extension/ezodf/translations/pol-PL/translation.ts
[ Jan 27 2009 08:29:21 ] [my_ip] eZTSTranslator::loadTranslationFile:
Could not load translation file: extension/ezclasslists/translations/pol-PL/translation.ts

Indeed there are no translation files there, BUT I also removed Polish translation file from ezwebin, and the error doesn't count it! So it's a proof that engine don't take that translation file. Isn't this setting enough to ensure ezwebin translation file counts in?:

TranslationExtensions
                                           [0]
extension:ezwebin                [1] ezwebin
extension:ezodf                    [2] ezodf
extension:ezdhtml                [3] ezdhtml
extension:ezclasslists          [4] ezclasslists

EDIT: I remember one thing: while installing eZ, of course the installation script run pass the 30 seconds of maximum php script execution time (I cannot modify this setting). I somehow managed to install it later, by "finetune", etc. But I wonder if some configuration entries were ommitted...

How can I check my installation of eZ Publish to see if everything's all right?

Can anyone give me a hint on this problem? It's quite urgent...
How can I make ezwebin actually use its translation file?

not sure if i have a hint and probably too late for Noicokuna, but, in my ezwebin settings, i found /extention/ezwebin/settings/site.ini.append.php has

<?php /*
[TemplateSettings]
ExtensionAutoloadPath[]=ezwebin
[RegionalSettings]
TranslationExtensions[]=ezwebin
*/ ?>
