Testing an attribute value

In the template attached to the content of this class, I need to test if the content of the attribute image is empty or not, i.e if there is an image to display. Is it possible? If possible how to do it?In more general, Is it possible to test if an attribute of a class is set or not? Thanks for reading and helping me
