Problem changing passwords

I have found a bit of a problem with the /user/password module.

In my version of ezPublish (3.1-1 SVN2703), I can change a password to blank/null (i.e. I type in the old password and leave the new password/confirm password fields blank).

The problem here is that is it now impossible to use the account. You cannot log in or change the password to something else.

I realise than an obvious solution is not to change the password to an empty string, but this is the sort of thing that users tend to do from time to time.

Any workarounds/fixes here would be appreciated.

I thing this must be reported at http://ez.no/developer/ez_publish_3/bug_reports

I have this problem before with the admin login, and to unlock it i manually edit the table ezuser and store a new md5 password.

I have a related problem: Users cannot change there own password from the admin interface. They get the message they are not allowed to change their password.

Has this any relation with the blank password problem?
