Hi all

I am trying to override the page_mainarea.tpl. I have copied it to my design folder togther with the rest of the page* templates (such as page_head.tpl etc.). All the other templates are working, but I cannot get EZ to use my page_mainarea.tpl, it is always falling back to the standard one! Have anyone here had similar problems, eventual what is the solution?

cheers
Tore

Little update. Instead of overriding the page_mainarea.tpl (because it did not work). I created my own template called page_content.tpl, put it in my design/template folder and then from my page_mainlayout.tpl inserted a "{include uri="design:page_content.tpl"}". However, this does not either work...

Hello,
What version are you using, and what is the path to the directory where you put the files? Are you using the /design/xxx/templates/ or /design/xxx/override/templates/

...AND have you cleared the template cache, and maybe also the contentview and ini-cache??

best,
claÜs

Hi

I am using version Ez version 3.2-3 (3.2 release 3). Path to my dicrectory is: ezroot/design/gsa/templates where gsa is the name of my design, which is working fine except for the page_mainarea.tpl override. I am not using override as I am working on my standard pagelayout.tpl design. I have cleared all the caches several times (both by clicking clear "all caches" and cleared them specifically). I am getting really frustrarted on this becuase I do not understand it at all... When using another template I get this in debug "No template could be loaded for "page_content.tpl" using resource "design"

Cheers
Tore

PS: Update. Think I have found it.. Seems as the "clear cache" in setup was not working 100%!!! Since once I manually deleted all files in /var/gsa/cache it worked! Strange because during my last design all worked fine... hmmmm should maybee have a button in admin deleting all cache FOLDERS! I do not know how many hours I have spent due to stale/incorrect cache!

Thanks for help Claüs

Update: Might it have something to do with that I started on the new design by altering an old custom design. I started by copying all files from the old design to the new empth design folder. Then editing those files, after some hours chaning my mind and starting from scratch, therefore deleting all template files. Then making new templates. However, many with same name as before. Might this have confused the cache clearing mechanisms.

Hi,
Try copying it to design/override/templates/ directory. I remember having done something like that once.

Are you using the debug option?:
[TemplateSettings]
# Use either enabled to see which template files are loaded or disabled to supress debug
Debug=disabled

cheers,

Rename the page_mainarea.tpl (and/or page_mainlayout.tpl) in design/standard (do not delete it, you can need it again). Just see what happens...
