I try to install ezPublish (via the setup wizard) in my web hotel (ServeTheWorld.net).

When it comes to the database initialzation I get the following message:
"The database would not accept the connection, please review your settings and try again."
My settings are:
type: MySQL
servername: localhost
username: hornet_admin
password: (4 letters)
socket: (blank)

My database name (which I am not asked for) is hornet_x (the prefix and the underscore is provided by the wob hotel, I have just added the x in the name).

What can be the problem / what should I do???

Hi,

If you pay for this hosting just ask your administrator to help you install eZ publish on server. Also you can write a simple PHP code to check db connection.

Hi,
it's fine, that you cannot enter your db name here.
You just enter your MySQL user (in your example, this is hornet_admin). Donn't confuse this with your FTP or Shell user, it may be different.
After MySQL recognizes the user (with the password you entered), you will see all databases, that you can access (on the next page, i think).

What can be wrong?
- Usrr can be wrong (must be your MySQL user)
- PW can be wrong (must be the MySQL PW for this user)
- Servername can be wrong (if this is a shared hosting, then your MySQL server probably is NOT localhost). Do you have the name/IP-Adress of your MySQL server?

It was servername that was wrong. Was not localhost - database on other server.

Thank you.
