hi

I have created a new role called authenticated users and assigned the guest account group privallages to access a form for submitting news content. I have also created overides for login.tpl and register.tpl. I have created a test user to test the login, after i submit the test users credentials I am redirected to a blank page. i having dedug and template debug turned on but recieve no detail for teh blank page. If i go back to my submit news button all works ok i.e the user has been authenticated and i can submit a news article for approval.

What i would like to do is conirm to the user they have been logged on and redirect them to the submit news page. Any Ideas.

Thanks
Paul

hmm, so what you are saying is that now you have to login twice before it is working ?

ok, just reread your post and got it.. ;)

Sorry, but I don't know why you got this behaviour. When you activate your account, you should automaticly be logged in (and stay logged in untill you logout)

One suggestion though:
When you register and activate a user, does the hostname in your URLs ever change during this process ? (Maybe the hostname in the email is wrong/different?) If so, then that's the source to your problem

thanks Vidar

you are indeed correct the hostname was wrong. I had confused mtself while trying to test on two systems here. A classic case of trying to get to much done to quick and not looking at the problem correctly, two weeks of trying to get up to speed with ez took has taken its toll :) after a night off I checked it against my internet test site and spotted it imediatly in the email. Now i just have to remember not to move test users i wish to delete to trash, but that another story.

thanks
Paul
