How do I use approval of objects?

I've read something about workflows, so I created a new workflow and added an event 'approve'.
But... I don't really know how this thing works. What do I need to configure, so that I (admin) can approve objects (articles) that other users created?

ps: Is there any documentation on this subject? I couldn't find it...

The old docs need to moved to the new docs. I dont see any new docs for this. In the mean time read this:

What you need to do after creating your workflow is to assign a trigger. This will activate your workflow when the trigger conditions are met.
