Hey all,

Would anybody here know if 'iconbg.gif' is a file that is required by eZ Publish? I have designed several sites with EP 3.7.0, and all are rather sluggish, and eventually 'crash' (restarting Apache fixes this) and when looking at the logfiles of apache, I see that there were noumerous requests for iconbg.gif (can be seen with firefox as well, in the page info screen, tab of 'media'), a file that does not exist and I don't believe I made the request myself...

Does anybody know where this behaviour is based on? IMO it is either from Ez Publish, or from Apache.

Thanks

William

By the way, making a small gif-file with this name and placing it in the requested directory solves the problem without any visual effects (speed increases, stability is better and the pic is nowhere to be seen...)

iconbg.gif is not part of a default eZ publish 3.7 installation so the requests in your appache log file sugest a different source... In which directory did you place the gif image which solved your problem?

I placed a dummy gif in /var/www/ezpublish/design/<siteaccess>/stylesheets/iconbg.gif

This is where the image was expected, according to apache's logfiles. Performance has increased dramatically since. First, after clicking a link, you could go and fix yourself a pot of coffee. Now, you can't even take a sip from your cup in the time it takes to load something.

If you're on Linux, cd to your eZ publish root directory and then execute:

# grep -irlP "iconbg" *

Now you should get a list of files which contain the text "iconbg", and by doing so you can find the source of your problems.
