Help, I'm lost!

My user site is www.domainname.com and my admin site is admin.domainname.com What I want to do is have every user login to the user site, no anon access. I created a sample course and a user within the course but I cannot log into the user site. I can only login with admin. I am totally lost. I want to create a sample course where only an assigned user can view it, no options to edit it. Can someone help? I've read the one page section on users and roles but I'm afraid I don't understand. thanks in advance.

To require user login on the user site, set
