Hi There,
Short question: Does anybody know where i can declare the FROM NAME in an email sent by eZ System? At the moment all mails from the user registration are send from the correct E-Mail Adress but without FROM Name. So Postfix uses www-data as sender for relaying (not really nice). Is there a site.ini setting available??
Thanks & regards, Mike

Hi Mike, IIRC this should be in site.ini under MailSettings EmailSender.

Hallo Norbert, I think
[MailSettings]
Transport=sendmail
[email protected]
is only used for the sender E-Mail Adress, not the FROM Name. Sender E-Mail is already correct, but From Name is missing. Any idea?

You are right, this happens when you answer without reading carefully. ;)
I think this is a sendmail configuration issue on your server. You could, however use a sendmail option like this:
SendmailOptions[]=-F
SendmailOptions[][email protected]
Hope that works, Norbert

Hi Mike, after some test (I realized that I'll need this feature too) I discoverd the following:
EmailSender is the Email address in the from field. Passing the -F option to sendmail adds the name in the From field.
[MailSettings]
[email protected]
SendmailOptions[]=-F
SendmailOptions[]=YourCompany
becomes
Your Company <[email protected]> in the From header.
However for me the sendmail option only works for the Admin Notification. So when a user registers he gets an email with only the EmailSender in the From field, while only the Admin gets the correct Header. Also on InformationCollection Emails the From field is only the Email adress specified in the EmailSender setting.
@Anyone
Why is this? Or is there an entirely different solution to this Problem?
Regards, Norbert

Hi Norbert,
Sorry, i had no look at the forum on weekend :) Hm.. Sendmailoptions sounds interessting - i'm using postfix, so i have to have a look for the correct options. Nevertheless, it doesn't look really comfortable. There are thousands of parameters to set in the ini and override files an no parameter for the "from" field? Sounds a little bit senseless!? Maybe there is an option but we don't know it :) And it looks like noone else knows it ...
Ciao, Mike

Hi, I tried many different solutions to define the sender <from> name with postfix - no chance. Sendmail Options should also work on postfix but they do not. :((( I nearly can't believe, that nobody else has this problem!?
Ciao, Mike

Hi, As MTA I use Exim, using Exim's rewrite rules engine I can change any field (e.g. from) in outgoing emails. Sample: <source pattern> <replacement> <flags> [email protected] "Website Team <[email protected]>" w Flag "w" guarantee that the whole address item will be replaced (not only working part) so there is no need to add in the pattern www-data (you can of course use advanced pattern using regular expression ...) If you will use html email templates problem with www-data should be also resolved. Regards, Michal
