Design Extension or Sitestyle

Got standard 4.3 installed and working. Followed the instructions here http://serwatka.net/index.php/en/blog/website_interface_customization_tips to create a new design extension. Clear all cache, it seems fine, new extension shows up in admin. But changes don't show up. So here's my question. In core.css there's this:

background-image: url('../images/body-bg.png');

Checking this image shows it's 1px by something, clearly not what's shown on the homepage. Viewing the source shows:

http://localhost/ezpublish/var/storage/packages/eZ-systems/ezwebin_design_blue/files/default/file/images/bg.jpg

So what's going on, and what's the best way to proceed. I can edit the site-colors.css and classes-colors.css directly, but this doesn't seem to be the best way.

I purposely mirrored the whole ezwebin directory so that I wouldn't be messing with the original files. I probably did something wrong right? Any tips on how to fix it appreciated.

Thanks in advance, sorry for such a long post.

Hi,

Welcome to the community portal. About your problem, I have not used that guide you link to myself, instead I used the following quick guide here http://share.ez.no/forums/general/how-to-begin-with-ez-publish#comment57338

That was with succes, editing the files showed the changes I made directly in the front end of the site. Might be worth checking if that works for you as well.
