Cache clear does not work in Windows XP

I think it is failing because in my Windows XP enviroment the var dir is set to read only. But I can not uncheck it! This is really frustrating because I know that at my work it is working in Windows XP.. So I know there is a solution but I can not find. Maybee anyone here knows it. UPDATE: As a stop gap solution is disabled the cache with this in my siteaccess site.ini.append: [ContentSettings] # Whether to use view caching or not ViewCaching=disabled UPDATE 2: Seems to me that I also had different var dir settings in my site.ini.override. I.e admin cache only cleared the admin cache, while the default design cache was left untouched.

Where are you trying to make the var dir readonly? From the General properties tab or the Security tab? You should probaly make the var dir writeable from the Security, for the user under which your apache is running (or for Everyone). -- Nothing is impossible. Not if you can imagine it!
