Hello
I'm trying to figure out how to allow anonymous users to post comments on articles and to contribute on the site with out the need to log in. I can see the comments buttons when I log in as the administrator but when I log in as a 'normal user', it still says you are not allowed to make comments and also says you need to log in to contribute to forums..please help. I know it's something to do with roles in the admin area but I haven't done it before. Can somebody please guide me on this..thanks.

Hi,

Try this:

Edit the anonymous role and add the following policies:

1)
Step1: Module=content (grant access to one function)
Step2: Function=create (grant limited access)
Step3: Class=Comment, Section=Standard, ParentClass=Article

2)
Step1: Module=content (grant access to one function)
Step2: Function=edit (grant limited access)
Step3: Class=Comment, Section=Standard, ParentClass=Article

Remember to save the role and verify that the policies you added are correct. That's it, I haven't tested this, but I think it should pretty much solve your problem.

Hi,

you can look here:
http://ez.no/ez_publish/documentation/building_an_ez_publish_site/the_guestbook/making_the_button_work

but there is a problem:
http://ez.no/community/bug_reports/how_to_allow_simple_posting_for_anonymous_users_no_login_requirements

Anonymous Users are one user with User ID: 10 so [content edit self] means editing all ever made comments or forum posts by any anonymous user.

The only way is Volkers hack, but not testet is 3.4 or 3.5

Hello
Does anyone know why my guest users can not post after registration. If someone has done it before, I will appreciate if you can just post the code so that I can see how you set the Roles and Polices.

I can post and make comments when I'm logged in as the admin for my site but when I create another user account, It says "you are not allowed to make comments" instead of having the comments button at the buttom of each article or in the forums that come with ezpublish as fault message board. Plz help.
Thanking you in advance.
