Upgrading to 3.1 Beta

I downloaded the 3.1 beta today and tried to upgrade my original ezPublish 3.

I didn't see any documentation on how to upgrade so, seeing that the source folder of the 3.1 beta looked like the 'default' folder in my version 3, I just backed up my old default and copied my site.ini.append from my settings/override folder and the site.ini.append from my settings/siteaccess/[mywebsite] folder.

Then, I copied the design folder for [mywebsite] from my old default folder.

After a restart, the admin side of things seems to be fine, but I can't access the customized design of my user side.

I played with the site.ini.append from my settings/siteaccess/[mywebsite] folder, changing the

[DesignSettings]
SiteDesign=[mywebsite]

setting to

SiteDesign=standard and then
SiteDesign=user

These changed the look of the site as expected.

But, it doesn't seem to recognize that the design for [mywebsite] exists. Same with the Demo design too by the way.

I made sure I cleared my cache. Didn't make any difference.

Any tips?

Thanks,

Geoff

3.1 introduces a new and improved template override system. The template overrides are now .ini file based. There is an upgrade script under update/ in the 3.1 root, this script will suggest override.ini settings for a given siteaccess.

I do not recommend running 3.1 beta 1 in any production environments. It's not enough tested, yet.

I see the update scripts in the update folder (in the common and database folders).

Excuse my ignorance, but can you tell me how I run them to update my eZPublish.

Thanks in advance.

Geoff

p.s. I'm only updating a test box. But I am currently trying to learn how it works so that I can to get it into production for my company's site hopefully before too long.
