Hi,

My hosting is not supporting PHP 4.x anymore, and is about to upgrade to PHP 5.0/5.1/5.2 all the servers, so I have to move to another server that supports PHP 4 or ugrade my existing eZ Publish sites to <b>eZ Publish 4.0</b>. Upggrading sounds the best option to me.

Problem is that all my sites are developed with different <b>eZ Publish</b> versions. The oldest is a 3.7.5.

I need some piece of advice before starting. What ist the best way to handle this upgrade?

Do I have to follow this upgrade path 3.7.5 -> 3.8 -> 3.9 -> 3.10 -> 4.0 ?

Is there a better way to achieve this task?

Can I just export all classes, contents in packages and then, restore them in a fresh 4.0 install ? Is there a way to do this? (all my classes are custom classes, except folder class)

Sorry, many questions but this problem is driving me crazy :(

Thanks in advance

Can you feel it Mr. Anderson? Closing in on you? Oh I can, I really should thank you after all. It was, after all, it was your life that taught me the purpose of all life. Purpose of life is to end.

Hi Ted,

You have to follow this upgrade path :
3.7.5 -> 3.8.10 -> 3.9.4 -> 3.10 -> 4.0 because it is recommended to upgrade directly to the latest stable release in the 3.8 and 3.9 branch.

I don't think there is a better way to achieve this task.

You can't export all classes and contents in packages : it does not work.

Good luck.

Stéphane
