Setup Wizard Loop

I am running the latest version.

Problem: Everytime I modify site details, I'm sent back to the "Database Initialization" section of the wizard with the error: "The database would not accept the connection, please review your settings and try again."

Problem is, the wizard accepted it during the previous step. After it accepts the 'db initializing' i'm taken to 'language'> 'site packages'> and so on... When I arrive at the 'site details' portion I submit the info but I'm taken back to the 'db initializing' page. Thus the vicious circle.

Help me... Patience is not one of my virtues. Thanks for your help. If anyone else has any suggestions or insight feel free to email me at deon at soonamy.com

Hi

Are you trying to use MySQL or PostgreSQL ? ( and which versions ?)
Are you 100% sure the database, username and password settings you provided are correct ?

Hi,

...And thanks for the fast response. To answer your question I'm 99.9999% sure that the info is correct. My web host uses mysql 3.23.49. I'm assuming the info is correct since it accepted it the first time in the setup process

When it asks for servername I enter: "localhost" (without the quotes) plus my username and password. It accepts this. When I try something different (such as my domain name) it rejects. After that I enter the other info. It's not until I submit the site info that it takes me back to the database info.

So I figure that somewhere along the line it's connecting with the database if it allowed me to advance.
