Hello,
I'm just trying to install the new version of eZpublish on my server but it isn't working properly.

For one it is REALLY slow using the setup script. Like each page take abouts 40 seconds to load.

But my main problem is this: it gets to a point near the end of the setup where it tries to create the tables, which it does, but then times out. When I try to refresh the page it comes up saying that it can't create the tables again because they already exist. SO i delete the tables and press refresh, but then it times out again etc etc. It's like a circle that I can't get out of!

It will time out because it's created the tables apparently, but then when I try to get it to keep going by pressing refresh, it gives me an error saying it can't create the tables. I just want it to forget about the tables once it's made them and do whatever it has to do after that!!

What can I do?

Thanks,
Dave

What packages did you choose? If news for example delete also var/news dir.
So you must delete var/news and tables. Then click retry. I hope this help

This is the error it keeps coming up with when I try to refresh:

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /pub/home/dbarker5/htdocs/site/kernel/classes/ezpersistentobject.php on line 276
Fatal error: eZ publish did not finish its request

The execution of eZ publish was abruptly ended, the debug output is present below.

Each time though, it is a different fle with the problem though. I have a feeling I need to modify php.ini but I don't have access to it. Is there any way around this? SHould I just install eZpublish 2.2?
Thanks,
Dave

ini_set("max_execution_time", "360"); - add this in second line in your index.php

Then try your instalation once again.

Hi,
I think that helps, but the problem now is with my browser - it times out. Is there any way to stop this?

Thanks again,
Dave
