Hi,

I have been using Drupal user and I have just decided to check out Ez publish (just out of curiosity). I am trying to install the newest version (version 4.4). After the first screen in which I choose the installation language, I get the following message:

Fatal error: eZ Publish did not finish its request

The execution of eZ Publish was abruptly ended, debug information can be found in the log files normally placed in var/log/*

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Hi Michael, and welcome to the eZ Community !

Did the page stale a bit before giving you this message ? Like several seconds ? One good tip is to increase PHP's max_execution_time configuration variable. Pick php.ini, spot the directive and make it as follows :

max_execution_time = 120

After restarting your webserver and trying again loading the page, you should be landing on the second screen of the installation wizard. If not, you may want to slightly increase the max allocated memory to PHP, as follows :

memory_limit = 128M

Let us know how things go Michael,
Cheers,

Hello,

I would enable the php.ini setting.

display_errors = On

I would do this so I could see the real error occurring during your installation setup.

Cheers,

Heath

Hi Nicolas,

Your tips worked great. Thank you very much! I don't think I would have ever found it by myself

Hi Michael,

Glad to hear this !

Let us know how well you are gearing-up on eZ Publish. As you could see the forums are generally pretty helpful (try using the search function to check whether a question you would have was already replied in the past). The knowledge base also is a good way to start with eZ Publish : http://share.ez.no/learn

Cheers !
