Hi folks,
I tried installing ez (2) at a 1&1 hosted webspace and gave up after a while.
These were the problems:
- too many MySQL queries (ezP3 has less of them)
- too much memory needed (well: more needed than allowed)
- problems with permissions (can be fixed with your FTP client, as you don't have shell access) - problems with Image Conversion as ImageMagick is (was) not installed.
That's the bad news.
Good news (for you): We at Hyperroad Design decided to rent a "root server". On that, we have some customer's webspaces as well as several ezPublish installations (2.2.7 until 3.2 final).
If you are interessted in an installation on our own server, let me know.
We have ezP up and running (incl. ImageMagick), so we know, that it works.
This will save you lot's of time (and maybe help us to pay our server ;) ).
Contact me at marco.zinn at hyperroad-design.com and tell me, what you need (ezP version) and what you want to do with the installation (just testing? production? for what? how much data?) I'm sure, that we can find a good solution for everyone. Marco
