Not converting images

I have ImageMagick, which must have been installed when I reinstalled my RedHat 7.3 install into /usr/X11R6/bin

This is in my image.ini.php

Having tried to keep things very simple I used a minimal set of options when I recompile PHP (v4.3.1) but I did ask it to use GD. My 'fine tune' check results in the install of eZ Publish 2.9.7 tell me there are no outstanding image conversion issues with my setup.

When I try to create a new image it uploads okay - as I can find the renamed file in the originals/image directory. But nothing ever displays and it doesn't carry out the conversion.

I don't know if these help - from the error_log:

PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /data/WWW/html/ez3/kernel/classes/datatypes/ezbinaryfile/ezbinaryfiletype.php on line 106

What can be happening and how might I fix it?

(As you can see - I finally got eZ3 up and running - after a fashion).

Hi,

This is a strange one as the default install on RH 7.3 works fine with eZ3... try running 'convert' from the command line to see if it can be found. Then check the the apache user has rights to run the 'convert' command.

Thanks. Mine is very much not standard, as accepting defaults with 7.3 did not work for me so I reinstalled the whole machine and then did the MySQL, PHP and Apache bits from source. But I got eZ Publish to run which I hadn't done before.

However, I will check the apache user/convert command, since the apache user is not standard. It ought to use GD before ImageMagick though oughtn't it?

Cheers,

Jock

Take a look at the section [imagemagick_program] in settings/setup.ini and make sure that convert is in one of the paths specified in unix_SearchPaths.
