Hi,

i tried to install ezPublish on our webserver to decide wether to do a redesign with this cms.

After uploading everything (version for linux) i started with the setup-procedure.

First it complains about access rights:

1. Insufficient directory permissions
eZ publish cannot write to some important directories, without this the setup cannot finish and parts of eZ publish will fail.
The affected directories are: settings settings/siteaccess/admin

I have only access to the site via ftp and i set the directories to 777 (because i cannot change the owner). But the message continues... strange - at least for me....

I checked "ignore the test" (with access rights 777 the scripts SHOULD be able to create stuff in there, shouldn't they?).

I cannot found any problems resulting from the "insufficent rights" but the message is strange.

Ciao, Udo

What the installer script is looking at is the permissions of the directory and its contents. I recommend using an FTP client that allows setting permissions recursively. The setup process will make changes to the files in those folders, but only if the webserver has write permissions to the files. Setup will likely fail if it cannot write to the files.

The other option is to select and change the permissions of the files inside the folders as well, but there are lots of them.
