Hi,

we are about to set up our firts ez publish site on our dedicated server. This server already host 8 websites on a php/mysql framework.
When lauching the set up wizrad of ez publish we get a memory message problem (copy below):

"1. Insufficient memory allocated to install eZ publish
eZ publish will not work correctly with a memory limit of 8M. It's highly recommended that you fix this.

Locate the php.ini settings file for your PHP installation. On unix systems, this is normally located at /etc/php.ini, on windows systems check the PHP installation path.

Open the php.ini file and change the memory_limit value to at least 12M, and press Next

If you are running eZ publish in a shared host environment, contant your ISP to perform the changes"

My question is this, what should be the quantity of RAM we should allocate to PHP to run ez publish in such an evironment. (8 websites and probably 3 more websites with z publish 3.3).

Our server is a PIV 2.4 Ghz with 512 Mo RAM.

Thanks for your replies !

Best regards.

Francis.

The allocation is handled per request....

We never noticed any troubles after setting it to 72 MB :-)

but less should work too

do you think that a 32Mb allocation should do on our server sharing about 10 websites ?

Solve by trial & error...

Try 16, does it work? -> No? -> Try 32 -> Does it work? -> No? -> Increase it again.

                      | |
                      -> Yes? -> Cool!                  -> Great.
