I've installed ezpublish 3 (latest) without ImageMagick because I've had trouble installing ImageMagick. My host server has PHP 4.3.2 installed. Therefore GD should already be installed with PHP correct? If this is the case, does GD provide the same functionality as Imagemagick or does it only provide basic image manipulation? Secondly, If GD will do the job of image manipulation, either at the same level as ImageMagick or at a more basic level, is there any special configuration that needs to be done with EZ Publish 3 to make it work with only GD installed and not Imagemagick? ImageMagick supports loads of image formats and can do lots of filters and effects on the images. If you want to the same with GD you would have to program it in PHP. All image conversion are configured by the settings/image.ini file. You should take a look at the Rule group and change any occurence of 'convert' to 'gd'.
