In the installation, I can't change teh safe mode on my web hotel, so the installation says I have to run commands in a system shell.

The manual says: "There may be several issues/problems. A suggestion to each problem is presented below the description of the problem itself. The setup wizard will probably suggest the execution of miscellaneous shell commands (in order to fix ownerships, permissions, etc.). These commands must be executed using a system shell. Simply copy the commands from the browser window and paste them into an open shell."

Though I don't understand how to do this. Where do I get a system shell, and how do I do it?

Hi,

You can get puTTY at this URL.

Your hosting company must allow shell access for this to work, if it doesn't work on the first try, go to tech support and ask if they allow shell access for your account/hosting agreement.

You log in with your username and password, then you are in the Linux shell.

Use the commands exactly as show by the wizard. I just copy them from the browser and paste them into putty. putty paste is a right-click. You probably can't use the root commands, just use the second set.

These commands set the privileges for the files that eZ uses.

Good luck
