I have a test site in my computer at "localhost" on Windows XP, Apache and MySql and I need upload to my hosting provider: Linux, Apache, MySql.

I know I have change some site and database settings (localhost for server, database name, user and password, etc.) Also I have to upload my content data via sql dump...

But, How can I upload my design settings (templates, stylesheets, etc)?

Can I simply upload entire site by FPT?

Thanks in advance

http://ez.no/developer/ez_publish_3/documentation/ez_publish_3/howtos/move_to_new_provider

Should work.

I shift from xoops and the method they instruct is just upload the whole decompressed files with directories in the a remote server. Follow the instruction when u first hit the install/index.php. Ad now with this new method, I am not familiar with the method. From the last post I saw, there are three folders need to upload to the remote server, right? then run the modfix again...I am lost here...help!

Hi Kamkit,

from your post it is not clear whether you are talking about a fresh install or moving an already made ez publish installation to a new server. The documentation I posted is for moving an existing installation to a new server. Basically you backup your database, back up the files in /settings, /var/storage and /design/(yourdesigns), do a fresh install on the new server and restore the database and the above mentioned directories. As a last step, you may have to tweak the settings to reflect your new server.

If you want a fresh install, just follow the procedure decribed in the manual.

Karsten
