Hi all,

I have just upgraded from ez3.0 to ez 3.1b1 on a Windows 2000 SP3 machine. The ez3.0 installation worked fine. I installed ez3.1 and ran through all the setup/config screens without a problem. Right at the end though, when I clicked the 'Done' button, I got stack overflow on Apache.exe.
Any further attempts to connect to ez3.1 result in the same problem.

Initially, I was running PHP 4.3.1 and Apache 2.0.45.
I didn't install any of the demo data.

I then tried upgrading to PHP 4.3.2 and Apache 2.0.46.
The problem stays the same.

Anyone else having this problem or have a few ideas?

It works fine using apache 1.3.x

Clearly the PHP/Apache2 support on Win2k/XP still needs a little tweaking. The funny thing is that everything else seems to work OK. Its just ez3.1b1.

ezTeam, for interests sake, are there any new features of PHP that you are using in 3.1 that may be responsible?

There should not be any new PHP functions used in eZ publish 3.1.

Could you check the memory limit, mabye it was a bit lower than needed on apache2?

We've run eZ publish successfully on apache2, however I would not recommend using it in a production environment as PHP is not stable under apache 2 - yet.

I tried raising the memory limit to 20M, but it didn't make any difference. I am going to try installing the same config on a different machine later just to confirm that it really is a PHP/apache problem and not some idiosyncracy on one particular machine. Will keep you posted.

I've got almost the same problem.

Installed eZ 3.0-2 at WinXP SP1, Apache 1.3.27, PHP 4.1.1, MySQL 3.23.53.
It was configured as Virtual Host 127.0.0.1:9000.
Setup was passed succesfuly. After clicking 'Done' my Apache hangs because of PHP module probelms.

Then I've tried to put eZ to 127.0.0.1. Still hangs.
Then I've got eZ 3.1.0-2. The same problems.
After this I've got PHP 4.3.2. The same.
Installed Apache 2.0.46. The same.
Put memory_limit 40M in PHP. The same.

When it hangs it gives me the following info (on Apache 1.3.27 was simmiliar message):
Apache HTTP Server has encountered a pronelm and needs to close.
More info:
szAppName : Apache.exe szAppVer : 2.0.46.0 szModName : php4ts.dll szModVer : 4.3.2.2 offset : 000ef0f7

What can it be?..
