[alright, don't quite know if this is the right place to put this query, but don't quite know where to go elsewhere...] Hi,
I'm a complete novice when it comes to web development - which is why I hired a professional to develop the next website for the company that I work for... Whether it's necessary or not (and am not quite sure it is, but there we go...), this will include the ez publish CMS.
Great - except now I'm struggling to find adequate hosting for the website. I'm told that, at the very least, we'll need a VPS for the website to adequately function - is this so? (definitely, as my web developer concedes, a dedicated server is overkill) To begin with, I don't really expect there will be a _huge_ amount of traffic to the site, and in terms of multimedia content, yes there will be some, but not tremendous amounts. I'm quite tempted to get something 'cheap and cheerful' like this: http://www.web-mania.com/cgi-bin/hostshop1.cgi but am told that there's way too big a risk in terms of functionality if I do that (I'm recommended something like http://www.eurovps.com/vps/vps.html instead).
So anyway, now we're committed to this all-singing, all-dancing CMS website, do we also have to go and spend a shed-load of money on adequate hosting? Or not?
Many thanks, Marcus Jakt
