ez and ugly windows

Hello,

Ez generates images based upon the image name and the sufix defined in settings at the image.ini file, and creates the folder where the image is saved.

In windows there is a limit problem with long names, so it occurs that in some cases the path+imagename becomes too long to be saved correctly thus being impossible to retrieve the image itself when it has to appear at certain template, It also gives some headache when zipping the whole site to move the whole site from windows to linux or even another PC.

Is there any kind of solution or hack that can be made to make the ez-automatic generation of path+images shorter? thanks

Hi Jorge,

This was reported some time ago there : http://issues.ez.no/9132. This is definitely a limitation, due to an otherwise very useful image storage handling. Do you have alternatives to using a windows server ? You may want to remove the suffix, if any ? Is it an option to try to keep image object names as short as possible ?

Cheers,
