DataBase Error in :Set-up Wizard

jayagopalan Balasubramani	Monday 23 January 2006 6:59:59 pm HI , I have downloaded ezpublish 3.7.3. I am using MAC OS TIGER 10.4 and MYSQL 5.0. When i run the setup wizard, I get the folllowing Error in DataBAse wizard. Error Connecting to DataBAse .Pls check the Settings and Try again. I am not sure about the account settings for MYSQL. i have installed MYSQL admin utility as well.How can this be resolved. Thanks !

Your problem might be related to authorization method which was change since version 4.1. http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/4.1/en/old-client.html Turn on debug output in site.ini for installation process, you will see all errors in debug info. Also i had some issues when selecting a database in mysql. MySql do not support the default character set provided in ini files. [IS0-855....series ] I have changed the character set to UTF-8 in ini files which resolved the issue. thanks.

HI ,

Hi,
i have successfully installed ezpublish-3.7.3...:) During the database set-up ,i changed the server name from localhost to actual ip-address of my machine..It worked.

Also i had some issues when selecting a database in mysql.

MySql do not support the default character set provided in ini files. [IS0-855....series ]

I have changed the character set to UTF-8 in ini files which resolved the issue.
