Curious - design missing after install?

I can't see what on earth I've done here.

I've done enough EZP installs to have a pretty reasonable idea what I'm doing, so I'm guessing this problem must be some damn simple thing I've overlooked.

I've installed EZP 3.7-2 (hosted-linux), followed through the automated install process. everything works fine.

But then, when I try to access the admin site, there are no graphics, colours or design at all - only text and text-links.

Looking at the page code, there is an extra / in the URLs. For example, pages are referring to:

    @import url("//design/admin/stylesheets/core.css");

(note double slash) instead of:

    @import url("/design/admin/stylesheets/core.css");

I'm stumped. I've installed on a subdirectory and it works fine. I've reinstalled everything, but problem re-occurs (or I mistakenly recreate it somehow).

Anyone got a clue, a fix, or the bolt of genius and insight I seem to be missing?

Thanks.

Getting closer, I think I may not have copied the .htaccess_root file. This looks like a part of the problem.

Ignore the above... in previous versions I'd renamed index.php to keep a site hidden while in development, but now it seems this is not possible or useful. This was the cause of the problem.
