Hi everyone,

I have just installed Ezpublish sucessfully, however, I can't login as an Admin. I know the the userid and password, but it wouldn't log me in. After I typed the userid and and the password, it refreshed the page and went back to the login page again. Could someone please let me know I did wrong? Thank you in advance for any help.

Cheers,

Is this eZ Publish 4.1.x?
Have you installed eZ Publish on a subdomain or something?

To see if you have problems with session cookies, comment out (//) line ~575 in lib/ezutils/classes/ezsession.php where you have this code: "session_regenerate_id();".

Hi Andre,

First of all, thank you for quick reply.

Is this eZ Publish 4.1.x?
Yes, it is eZ Publish 4.1.0

Have you installed eZ Publish on a subdomain or something?
No, currently I installed on a static IP.

I have looked ezsession.php at line 575, there is no comment out. I have tried to reinstalled the second time with the latest version, 4.1.3 and had the problem.

When I tried to login from the front end of the web site with the "Log in to the eZ Publish Administration Interface" check box checked, I got error "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".

Here is my server configuration:

Windows 2003
MySql 5.1.34.
PHP Version 5.2.9-2
Ez Publish 4.1.3

Thanks again for your help.

Cheers,

"there is no comment out."

No it's not commented out, I asked you to try to comment it out.
As in change "session_regenerate_id();" to "//session_regenerate_id();".

Hi Andre,

I tried that and had the same problem. When I tried to type in the wrong password, it knew that I input the wrong password but when I typed the correct password, it refreshes the page.

Thanks,

Hi All,

All this time I have tried to do different things to see if I could login, but it didn't let me log in. I have started the server from scratch and reinstall everthing from the latest, but the problem is not fixed.

Could someone some please let me know I am missing? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

I had this exact problem with the screen refreshing with blank fields instead of logging me into the admin site. The issue was with a corrupt MySQL table. I could not figure out the problem at first, but I looked at Event Viewer (we use Windows) and it said one of the tables was corrupt. The table in our database was 'ezsession'. So, in the MySQL terminal, I did a 'check table ezsession' and then a 'repair table ezsession' and it repaired the table and fixed the problem and I could log into the admin site fine.

Hello,

I have the same problem with version 4.1.2.

All my website was working ok and I was away during 2 weeks of holydays. When I returned, the admin (and any user) cannot login into the system ! Nobody made any change on the site, in the database or the files... I am sure the login/password is ok as it is registered in firefox and there is no warning like "your login password is not ok". When entering the right login password, the authentication seems to be right against the database, a blank screen appears (it loads the page) and it returns on the login page...

I tried to patch the file as proposed by André R. but the problem remains.

I also tried to export the database, then I re-import the database into a new one, in case of a problem into the first database. But the problem persist.

As there is no error message, I do not not know how to handle this. I tried to enable the debut output into the site.ini file, but I did not find any relevant information.

The only information I get is some warnings when checking the database into phpmyadmin, but I am not sure it is linked to this problem. I have:

Problems with indexes of table `ezcontentobject_attribute`
PRIMARY and INDEX keys should not both be set for column `id`
More than one INDEX key was created for column `contentobject_id`
Problems with indexes of table `ezcontentobject_name`
PRIMARY and INDEX keys should not both be set for column `contentobject_id`
Problems with indexes of table `ezenumobjectvalue`
PRIMARY and INDEX keys should not both be set for column `contentobject_attribute_id`
Problems with indexes of table `ezkeyword`
More than one INDEX key was created for column `keyword`
Problems with indexes of table `ezkeyword_attribute_link`
More than one INDEX key was created for column `keyword_id`
Problems with indexes of table `eznode_assignment`
More than one INDEX key was created for column `contentobject_id`
Problems with indexes of table `ezurlalias_ml`
PRIMARY and INDEX keys should not both be set for column `parent`
More than one INDEX key was created for column `parent`
More than one INDEX key was created for column `action`
More than one INDEX key was created for column `action_type`
More than one INDEX key was created for column `text`

Any help is appreciated, as I am a beginner with Ezpublish and have no idea what to do with this issue...

Jean-Francois.

Could you guys try to truncate the ezsession table, if your on debian, ubuntu or debian based distro then gc cleanup of ezsession table does not work automatically.

I truncated the ezsession table from phpmyadmin but the problem persists.

When I try to log as admin, two rows are created in the empty ezsession table:

Hello,

I solved the problem exporting the database, then reimporting into a new database. Then I installed the 4.1.3 version of Ezpublish and followed the upgrading steps. And now I can login into the system...

One remark about the upgrading steps: I have no access to a shell on the server, so it is not easy to execute the clean of the cache. Maybe you should provide a way to clean the cache via an url or something like that.

thanks a lot,

Jean-Francois.

Via gui cache cleaning is trivial: it is the default page of the admin tab.
We cannot allow this to be done without proper user credentials though, as it would be an invitation to dos'ing the site...
