Hello,

I am trying to evaluate ezPublish for our office intranet.
I would like to know how far webdav development has progressed.

Based on the documentation that I've read it seems that only the administrator can use webdav to upload, download etc. files from webfolders. Is this correct ?

I was wondering if it is or will be possible in the future for ordinary users to upload or download files. I would also like to know if the latest version 3.3.3 allows administrators to add restrictions to sections of the webfolder.

Many Thanks,

Hamilton

Hi,

WebDAV support was implemented in 3.2. However, we have not had the time and resources to make it better. Only some bugfixing has been carried out since the initial implementation. WebDAV works in 3.3.3, however - it will probably be broken in 3.4 because of some changes in the role/permission system. In 3.3.3, WebDAV works exactly as before: only the admin user can log in and use it. Future versions of eZ publish will probably have better WebDAV support than the one we have now. I believe that either 3.5 or 3.6 will feature a much better implementation. If you really need better WebDAV support then I suggest that you contact support[at]ez[dot]no and ask if there is a possibility to do WebDAV as a small, payed project.

Sincerely Yours

Balazs
